How to Rank Programs

Rank the programs that are selected in the true order of preference. You will receive a single best offer for the highest-ranked program that is matched. Ranking a school higher does not increase your chances of getting an offer. Make sure to rank programs in the order that you would like to attend them.

Changing School & Program Choices

Students can change the schools and programs that have been selected up until the application deadline. Changes can be made directly in a student’s GoCPS account or by calling the Office of Access and Enrollment at 773-553-2060. Make sure to resubmit all applications if any changes have been made.

Re-Ranking

Families will now have an additional extension period after the application deadline to re-rank their choices. No re-ranking will be possible once the re-rank deadline has passed. Please see the GoCPS calendar for exact dates.

Apply to 10th - 12th grade

The GoCPS process oversees applications for students looking to enroll in grades Kindergarten through 9th grade. For grades 10-12, each school establishes its own guidelines and requirements for students looking to apply or transfer. If a student wants to enroll or transfer to a different high school for their 10th, 11th, or 12th grade school years, please contact the school to which you are interested in applying directly. Do NOT fill out the GoCPS Application.

Next Phase

High school applicants can participate in up to two phases of selections. In each of these phases, the application system will use a combination of factors to attempt to give the student an offer from the highest-ranked Choice Program and/or Selective Enrollment Program on their application for which they qualify and for which there are available seats.
